Timetable: Pere Marquette - Traverse City Sub - Baldwin to Traverse City

This was the original C&WM main line north to Traverse City. After the Manistee & Northeastern came under PM control, passenger and many freight trains were routed through Manistee (via Walhalla) and this line was reduced to a minor branch line and then abandoned between Baldwin and Kaleva in favor of the M&NE route. One reason for the abandonment was High Bridge north of Baldwin which needed to be rebuilt. Station times and siding capacity in 1949.

Notes:

High Bridge over the Manistee River. 1.170 foot viaduct 80' above water.

Kaleva: In 1949 was a gated crossing set against M&NE trains.

Beitner had a three mile ascending grade southbound at 1.32%.

Boardman Yard had a 2 chute coaling statyion, 100 ton capacity and a 7 stall roundhouse with a 65' turntable.
