Notes
This line was a double track main with automatic block signals. From High Street to Arnold street the GTW used the New York Central main line through downtown South Bend. The station a Chicago was shared with the CW&I.
Time Line
1915. SNAPSHOT: The GT main line operated 10 passenger and freight trains in each direction between Battle Creek and Chicago. Four trains were operated up and down the Pavilion to Kalamazoo branch. [GTOS-1915-1102]
1971. Chicago - Joint operation on Chicago & Western Indiana between C&WI Junction (mp 4.9) and Chicago.
1971. South Bend - Joint operation on Penn Central (LS&MS) between High Street and Arnold Street.
1971. Battle Creek - Joint operation by Penn Central (MC) on GTW from Main Street and Nichols interlocking.
