Sebewaing was settled around 1845 in the very southwest corner of Huron County. It was also spelled Sebewaing. [MPN]

Time Line

1941. The PM proposes to the Village Council to replace the current railroad swing bridge with permanent stationary girders and raise the elevation two feet to help control flooding. The War Department may object to the plan and require that a swing bridge continue to be maintained. [SEB-1941-0110]

1980's. This was an office where the agent would rarely see a train during their shift. The two mainstay locals, 803 and 806, arrived later in the evening. The operator might catch a grain train movement but those even ran out of Saginaw late at night after 803 arrived. The operator might be called upon to protect on-track equipment moves, such as track inspectors. This would be accomplished by the dispatcher issuing a "one copy" train order reading "Hold Eastward Trains" as an example. [DH]
