Station: Elkton, MI (Huron County)

PM Elkton Depot C&O Elkton Depot

Elkton was settled in Huron County about 1877 and first called Oliver Center. It was a station on the Saginaw, Tuscola & Huron railroad which became the Pere Marquette and a number of subsequent railroad owners. Elkton is five miles east of Pigeon. It became a village in 1897. [MPN]

Notes

Former C&O dispatcher Doug Hefty notes that not many train orders were issued at Elkton in the 1960's and 1970's, except those addressed to the "Operator" to hold eastward or westward trains to protect the maintenance-of-way or hi-rail vehicles.
