Location: Worham, MI

Worham was a lumbering community in Houghton County, about 4.5 miles southwest of Chassell along the Pike River. It was formed about 1909. The town was named using the first three letters of Worchester Lumber Company, and the first three letters of the Hamar company.


Notes

The lumber camp in this town consisted of a locomotive engine house, blacksmith shop, barn, cook house and two men's bunkhouses. The company also constructed a schoolhouse, six dwellings and a combined office and store. [CRR]
