Station: Mason, MI (Houghton County)

Mason was the location of the Quincy Mine mill on Torch Lake. The town is located north of Dollar Bay in Houghton County. The mill began operation around 1890.

Notes

The DSS&A line to Lake Linden crossed under the Quincy & Torch Lake railroad here, as it lowered down to the level of their mill on Torch Lake. The Q&TL trestle over the DSS&A was a 16 foot pile trestle.

This was a station on the Copper Range railroad in 1933.

The town was named after Thomas Fales Mason, the president of the Quincy Mining Company. [HAM]
