Notes
The C&H Smelting Works were located along the Torch Lake in Hubbell, in Houghton County. This Smelter processed ore from nearby stamping mills which received ore from the mines in Calumet via the company narrow gauge railroad.
Time Line
1906. The C&H Smelter has broken all records in the matter of refined copper production lately. They are operating extra furnaces and shipping copper as rapidly as it can be turned out. [DFP-1906-0404]
