North Star was settled around 1857. [MPN] It was a station stop on the Toledo, Ann Arbor & Northern (later Ann Arbor railroad) about half way between Ashley and Ithaca in Gratiot County.

1900. This is a telegraph station on the Ann Arbor railroad. [OG-1900]
