1885. February 9. This morning the freight box car belonging to the Flint & Pere Marquette railroad, attached nine days ago by the City Treasurer, was sold to satisfy a claim of $185.59 against the F&PM company, that sum being the amount of taxes assessed against the corporation on the old Williams property, and which they refused to pay. The car was bid in for $187.59 by F. C. Brown, chief clerk in the office of H. C. Potter, General Superintendent of the F&PM road at East Saginaw. Considerable trouble between the city and the railroad is expected to result from the sale. [DFP-1885-0210]

1885. December 31. The F&PM will replace the old wooden bridge over the river at Flint with a new iron structure with stone abutments. [DFP-1885-1231]
