Time Line
1912. An interlocking plant will be installed by the Detroit United Railways on the Flint division at the crossing of the Grand Trunk Western on Crapo street in the city of Flint, Mich. The machine will be of the Saxby & Farmer type, and will have 17 working levers in a 24-lever frame. The Detroit United Railways will also install within the next three months six Hocschen crossing bells, three on the Flint division, two on the Rapid Railway, and one on the Detroit, Monroe & Toledo Short Line Ry. At present there are 11 of these bells in operation on the system. [TSE-2/1912]
1917. The railroad commission approves for use the interlocking system at this crossing. [MCR-1917]
1923. The MPSC approves the replacement of semaphore signals with color light signals at this interlocking. [MPSC-1923]
