Ford Motor established this plant at Kingsford in the 1920's to process lumber for automobile car bodies and other products.

The north-south track at the right is the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul (MILW) main line. There is a multi-track yard south of the plant buildings as well as a lumber yard to the west.
