Munger is a village in Bay County which was located on the Detroit & Bay City railroad, about 12 miles southeast of Bay City. Shortly after the D&BC was built, it was sold or leased to the Michigan Central, which diverted most of its Bay City trains via Denmark Junction and Saginaw. Thereafter, the remaining line from Denmark Jct. to Bay City was operated as an branch line through Munger.

1874. Last night at 11:30 a party of trackmen on a hand car returning from Bay City to Munger station, on the Detroit & Bay City railroad, were overtaken on a curve in the suburbs by the Detroit Night Express. All jumped from the hand car but John Aulson, a Swede. He was killed by the collision. His neck was broken and two deep gashes out in his forehead. He was aged 35, and leaves a wife in the old country. [DFP-1874-0117]
