JN Tower in Plainwell was an interlocked crossing of the Grand Rapids & Indiana and the New York Central's Grand Rapids branch.

Time Line

1869. The Lake Shore & Michigan Southern built through here. The GR&I came through in 1870. The Commissioner of Railroads ordered an interlocker installation here in 1913. [CQII]

1912. The GR&I installed a 64-lever interlocking machine in the tower. It had 35 working levers, leaving room for expansion of the interlocking plant. [TSE-1/1915]. The tower and crossing were located just northwest of the intersection of Bridge and Acorn Streets in the City of Plainwell.
