Location: Blue Island, IL
Blue Island was a station stop located on the GTW South Bend subdivision at milepost 20.2. Blue Island Yard was adjacent to this. [GTWET-1971-0425]
Today, Blue Island Yard is part of the Indiana Harbor Belt railroad.

Time Line
1915. The GTW had a 144 car passing track here. [GTOS-1915-1102]
1917. The GTW had an agent here, as well as operators around the clock. The telegraph call was "BI". [TRT]
1971: Timetable noted that when approaching signal 209, WB freight trains receiving stop and proceed signal must call Blue Island Yardmaster for instructions.
