Station: Hearst, ON
Hearst is a community in Ontario, about 230 miles north of Sault Ste. Marie. It is a terminal on the Algoma Central and Canadian National railroads.

Time Line
1914. The town of Hearst, 200 miles north of the Canadian Soo, has been wiped out by forest fires. The Grand Trunk roundhouse is the only building remaining. The entire population of 5600 has been taken to Cochran on a special train. Other towns are threatened. [EMP-1914-0718]
