Time Line
1915. The GTW had a 72 car passing track here. Telegraph call was "ND". [GTOS-1915-1102]
1917. The MC had an operator-agent here on the day shift, considered at the time a part of the Airline Division. [TRT]
1920. On the Michigan Central, this is a passenger and freight station. Interline tickets are issued. J. T. Hagerty is he passenger agent. The telegraph call sign is "HF". South Bend "A" is the freight station for the MC in South Bend. E. H. Potter is the agent. [MCOAS]
1971 Notation in GTW employee timetable... Diesel engines, Burro cranes, Scarifiers and all other on track vehicles with less than 32-foot wheelbase without cars, will not be operated over joint main tracks until the HF Tower leverman has been fully informed of the movement. After proceeding, is movement is stopped for any reason, HF Tower leverman will be immediately notified.
