Station: Ford City, MI

Ford City became a village in 1902 around the Michigan Alkali Company along the Detroit River near Wyandotte. This town, also called Ford and Ford Village, was named after John B. Ford, president of Michigan Alkali. Ford City was merged into the City of Wyandotte in 1922. [MPN]

Ford City was served by the Michigan Central and Detroit, Toledo & Ironton. the DT&I had a station here (south of Wyandotte) named "Ford", which was at milepost 8.5 from Detroit (Delray). [DTIT-1952] They had a 72 car long passing siding here.
