Industry: Michigan Car Company, West Detroit, MI
The Michigan Car Company works was located at Grand Junction (later called West Detroit). The company built their works in the northeast quadrant of this railroad crossing. Along with the affiliated Detroit Car Wheel Company, the plant was bounded by the MC main line on the south, the Detroit & Bay City railroad on the east, and the Chicago, Detroit & Grand Trunk railway on the northwest.
This company was consolidated with the competing Peninsular Car Company in 1884.
