Prior to grade seperation, there was a crossing of the Detroit Terminal railroad and the Detroit United Railway at Woodward Avenue, in Highland Park west of the Ford Plant.

Time Line
1917. The railroad commission grants permission for the Detroit Terminal railroad to operate trains over the crossing of the DUR on a stop and proceed basis, pending installation of an interlocker at Woodward Avenue. [MCFR-1917]
