Station: Woodmere, MI

Fort Street Horse Drawn Car at Woodmere Woodmere was established as a station on the Canada Southern and Lake Shore lines in what later became southwest Detroit in 1878. It was near the present location of Woodmere Cemetery on Fort Street, adjacent to Delray. The area was absorbed by the City of Detroit in 1901.

Notes

Time Line

1905. August. Detroit will gain a good fire alarm system when Woodmere is annexed. The system used here is the same as in Detroit and by changing two wires at one of the engine houses, it will become at once part of the Detroit system. Our box numbers will not have to be changed even. Delray's system is not the same as Detroit and will have to be changed. [DFP-1905-0820]
