Location: Summit Yard, Detroit, MI
Summit Yard was a small stub team track yard located north off the Union Belt railroad 1/2 mile east of Livernois Avenue. This was a Pennsylvania yard. [MCTC-1950]
Notes
This yard had a capacity of 100 cars, with forty foot driveways. Trucks entered the yard on Front Street. The yard also had unique 25 ton and five ton overhead cranes which spanned two tracks. [CQII]
Time Line
1920's. This yard was built along the Union Belt.
