PM Marlette MI ElevatorMarlette was settled about 1854 in southwest Sanilac County. It was incorporated as a village in 1881. [MPN]

Marlette was located on the Pere Marquette line between Saginaw and Port Huron.

Time Line

1890. The large roller-process mill of H.W. Wilson was burned last night. A breeze blowing from the south rapidly fanned the flames. The new F&PM depot was seriously threatened. Cinders fell in showers the entire length of the street. [DFP-1890-1231]

1977. The agency was closed in January, 1977 at Marlette. A mobile agent was assigned from Gera to Marlette. [DH]
