Notes
Time Line
1898. The F&PM had an agent/operator here and passenger trains stopped regularly. There was a 35-car passing track here.
1908. February 6. The southbound train on the Pere Marquette railroad which left Port Huron at 6:50 a.m. yesterday is stalled in the snow two miles north of Bad Axe.
The train arrived at Bad Axe at noon today, after having been in a drift all night. The train was turned around and started back for Port Huron, following a snow plow. Near McGregor the plow became stalled and the passenger train was then backed to this place where it will probably remain all night. On this trail is the body of Mrs. Crockelaty, who died at Tyre Friday morning. The casket was taken to the depot yesterday and as there was no train out all day it remained there throughout the night. The body will be taken to Croswell where the funeral was to have been held yesterday. [DFP-1908-0207].
