Station: Frankenmuth Junction, MI

Frankenmuth Junction Frankenmuth Junction was a location on the interurban railroad line which ran from East Saginaw via Bridgeport to Burch Run and points south. At this junction, a four mile long branch left the main line heading east to Frankenmuth.

Time Line

1905. An interurban track was laid by the Detroit, Flint & Saginaw railroad. A station was constructed at the junction of M-38 and Dixie Highway. The tracks accommodated passenger and freight traffic, such as the needs of Star of the West Milling Co. Interurbans were scheduled on the hour to Saginaw for 25¢. [FHM]

1918. Passenger trains were reduced to six trips per day. [FHM]

1929. The Flint to Saginaw electric line was sold to the Detroit Trust Company. The track was torn up shortly after. [FHM]
