1891. November. As Clarence Reynolds, a cooper who resides in Carrollton was returning home from Saginaw, and while crossing the CS&M track, he was struck by the engine of a passenger train coming south. He was thrown against a culvert, from which he rebounded to the track in front of the wheels, which passed over his head, crushing it into a shapeless mass. The mangled remains were picked up and taken to his home near by, the shock falling with terrible effect upon his wife and three children. [LDP-1891-1126]
