Luzerne is settled about 1881 in southwest Oscoda County. [MPN] The location is about 10 miles southeast of Mio. Luzerne was at the end of an AuSable & North Western railroad branch line which ran southwest from Twin Lake Junction (near McKinley), south into Ogemaw County, and then back northwest into Oscoda County to Luzerne.
Photo info: Though not rail related, this was Ma Deeter's Log Cabin Hotel at Luzerne, a tourist location in the 1930's.
