Casnovia was founded about 1850 in southeast Muskegon County. It was incorporated as a village in 1875. [MPN]
Casnovia was on the Chicago & West Michigan railroad line north from Grand Rapids about 20 miles northwest. The village straddles Muskegon and Kent County.
