Interlocking: Monroe, MI - Elm Street
Elm Interlocking in Monroe was the crossing of the Detroit, Monroe & Toledo Short Line interurban track with the 3 major north-south railroads at Elm Avenue, on the north side of the Raisin River. This was the interurban's short branch line from downtown Monroe to the piers at Lake Erie.

Notes
This was an MC tower which controlled the Monroe Piers Line (DM&TSL) crossing of the MC and D&TSL. The structure behind the tower is the River Raisin Parchment Paper Company. [CGJ]
Time Line
1902. The railroad commission approves half interlockings at these four crossings on Elm Avenue in the City of Monroe. Derails on the interurban spur, signals on the steam railroads. [MCR-1902]
