Location: Menominee, MI - Ann Arbor Railroad Ferry Dock

The Ann Arbor railroad car ferry ran from Frankfort to Menominee in the first half of the 20th century. The dock in Menominee was located at the Menominee River entrance from Green Bay and Lake Michigan.

Notes

The MILW had a four track stub yard here along the waterfront, as well as three tracks serving the ferry slip (two direct to the boat, and one alongside the boat). [CNWV]

Time Line

1904. Dredging operations conducted by the U.S. government in the Menominee river for the last two months, have ended and the government tug Energy, with three scows, has gone to Green Bay. The channel of the Menominee river has been deepended to 20 feet. [SJH-1904-0702]
