Location: Ishpeming, MI - C&NW Facilities

The Chicago & North Western came into Ishpeming from two directions. The main line entered the city from the north east along what is now business 41. The depot was located at Second Street.

They also came into Ishpeming from the southwest on their Loop Line near Washington Street. This line connected with the main line near Carp Street.

Around 1960, the original main line was abandoned in favor of the joint C&NW, DSS&A and LS&I main line north of town, running from Negaunee west to Ishpeming parallell and south of US-41.

The C&NW had facilities on the old main line in downtown Ishpeming. They also built a new yard (Euclid) and depot along the new US-41 route.
