1901. May 11. The Orchard Beach park will hold the annual encampment of state troops. The camping ground is but two miles walk from the shore of Lake Michigan and has ample stabling and storage accommodations, while the railroad facilities are the best having the Pere Marquette and the Manistee & Northeastern lines within easy reach and the electric railway's terminus is at the camp.
