Lenox was a station on the Chicago & Grand Trunk railroad in Macomb County.
1903. April 23. The engineer and fireman of an eastbound C> passenger train No. 5 were killed when an unlighted switch was left open on the main line, causing the train to strike a freight train on the siding. Passengers on the train were not seriously injured. The train was travelling about 25 mph when the collision occurred. The engineer was found, erect at his post with his right hand on the throttle, evidence that when he saw the open switch he reversed his power and applied the air brakes. The two dead men were taken to Port Huron.
