Station: Clifford, MI
Clifford, in northeast Lapeer County, was settled about 1862 and became a village in 1891. [MPN]
Clifford is on the very north edge of Lapeer County and was a crossing of the north-south Pontiac, Oxford & Northern (later GTW) line to Caseville and the east-west Pere Marquette line from Saginaw to Port Huron via Marlette.

Time Line
1917. The GTW had an agent here during the day shift. [TRT]
1911. July. Both the PM and P&ON ran two trains through Clifford each way, daily except Sunday. [OG-1911-07]
1960. Depot was removed by this date.
1970s. The C&O and the GTW had a gate to protect the crossing here. It was set for normal operations on the C&O, and those trains could proceed at 20 mph if the gate was properly set. [DH]
