Location: Grand River Bridge - Grand Rapids, MI - (LSMS)

This swing bridge was originally used by the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern (NYC) on its line between Kalamazoo and the west side of Grand Rapids. Now fixed in place, it is used as a biking/hiking trail inside of a county park. This bridge was just north of Lamar interlocking.

1895. Described by the railroad as an iron Pratt truss swing bridge, built in 1893, 148 1/2 feet long, 22 feet above water, 7 feet depth of water. Hand power. [MCR-1895]

1903. The railroad reports that this drawbridge was constructed in 1893 and is 142 feet in length. It is an iron Pratt truss bridge. It is 22 feet above water (and the water is 7 feet deep). It was swung by hand power in 1903. [MCR-1904]
