Belmont Depot Belmont was a station stop on the Grand Rapids & Indiana railroad about 12 miles northeast of Grand Rapids. It was settled about 1869. [MPN]

Time Line

1892. June. Between Mill Creek and Belmont, freight engine No. 60 was derailed last night by a washout. No one was injured and a wrecking train was sent out to repair the track and clear away the wreckage. The wrecked engine was drawing train No. 17 at the time. The Mill Creek depot was also under two feet of water. [GRH-1892-0602]

1931. The MPUC grants to the PRR permission to discontinue its Belmont station as a non-agency passenger station. [MPUC-1931]
