Location: Bates Junction, Iron River, MI
Bates Junction was a crossing of the Milwaukee Road main line and a C&NW branch line going to the Bates Mine. The crossing, which was south of what is now Kofmehl Road, 2 miles east of Iron River, was protected at one time by an interlocking tower.
