Station: Mikado, MI
Mikado was founded in 1886 by Daniel Bruce who built a hotel for lumbermen here. He convinced the Detroit, Bay City & Alpena to make this a station stop. It was on the original main line six miles south of West Harrisville (now Lincoln). The town was incorporated as a village in 1906. [MPN]
