Railroad: Union Pacific Railroad

For a brief time between 1995 until 1997, the Union Pacific railway purchased and operated the Chicago & North Western railroad lines in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The UP's goal was to take over CNW operations west of Chicago and they did not have an interest in the U.P. itself. Two years later, they sold the U.P. trackage to the Wisconsin Central railroad (new).
