Time Line

1902. SNAPSHOT. The line has been completed from South Bent to Niles and construction is proceeding towards St. Joseph. The line operates two cars giving service from each terminus every 45 minutes. The track is constructed with 70 lb. steel rail and cedar ties laid on two-foot centers except upon all curves where white oak ties are use. Overhead construction consists of a single-pole line, with standard bracket arms and 2-0 trolley and 3,000 c.m. feed wire. The power for the operation of this line is furnished by the Indiana Railroad Company at a stipulated price. It is the intention of the company to proceed with the construction of the second and third divisions from Niles to St. Joseph during the coming year. [MCRF-1903]

1906. The line is extended by the Southern Michigan railway from Niles to St. Joseph, via Berrien Springs. [MRL]

1934. June 1. The entire line is removed. [MRL]
