Railroad: "Southern" line, State of Michigan

This was one of Michigan's original state owned railroads which were built shortly after Michigan achieved statehood, and at a time when the public was advocating for public improvements - railroads, canals and highways.

La Plaisance Bay Harbor Company → "Southern" line → Michigan Southern railroad

 Acquired: 1840 - La Plaisance Bay Harbor Company in Monroe, and River Raisin & Lake Erie.

Operated for 6 Years.

Built: 1840 - Monroe to Adrian. 1843 to Hillsdale.

Bought: 1844 - Palmyra & Jacksonburgh.

Sold: 1846 - to Michigan Southern railroad.
