Railroad: Michigan, Midland and Canada Railroad Company
The predecessor to this line (Michigan Midland) was created to build a railroad from St. Clair to Lansing, and later to Holland. The company never built, but reorganized as the MM&C in 1872. The line was built from St. Clair to Ridgeway in 1873. An operating agreement was created with the Canada Southern and by 1882 they controlled the line.
