Railroad: Blaney and Southern Railway Company

The Blaney & Southern railway was organized in 1902 and was primarily used for logging. The line was 7.2 miles with additional branches. It was sold to the Wisconsin Land & Lumber Company in 1925 and abandoned about 1931. The railroad had additional logging branches. [MRL]

Time Line

1902. The Blaney & Southern purchased the 7.2 line from Blaney Jct. and Bear Creek from the William Mueller Lumber Company. [MRL]

1909. This railroad had 7.5 miles of line from MStP&SSM to T43N-R13W Section 16.  [MRRC]

1925. The railroad is sold to the Wisconsin Land & Lumber Company which operated the railroad. The part of the railroad between Limestone and Bear Creek (4.6 miles) was abandoned in 1928. The remainder between Blaney Jct. and Limestone was sold to the Manistique Lime & Stone Company which abandoned the line in 1931. [MRL]
