Railroad Men: Jones Jr., Clinton
"Clint" Jones was form on July 6, 1944 and passed away on April 19, 2024. Jones worked in many roles in upper peninsula railroading, including electrical helper (with the MILW), engineer and trainman at the Keweenaw Central Railroad (north of Calumet), trainman on the C&NW, E&LS and COPR, and two railroads in Wisconsin. He became a trainmaster for the (new) Wisconsin Central railroad at Marquette, and purchased and founded the (new) Mineral Range railroad which operates between Ishpeming and Humboldt, servicing the Humboldt uranium improvement plant.
Clint was a railroad preservationist, historian and photographer. He donated his collection of photographs to the Lake States Railway Historical Association Archive (lakestatearchive.org).
