Lifetime Production: 3,221,588 tons between 1872 and 1947

C&NW lines were laid to this mining area in 1872, a distance of about six miles.

Various parcels of this property were formerly operated successively by Silas C. Smith Mining Co., Cheshire Iron Co. and Swanzeey Iron Co., and the names Smith, Cheshire and Swanzey have been applied to them. Property known as Princeton since 1891 and operted by Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Co. As of 1950, still held b Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Co.
