The Pabst Mine was located northeast of the Aurora Mine and east of the Newport Mine. It was owned by the Oliver Mining Company. This mine was under the Norrie Mine after 1901. The mine covered the south 1/2 of the northeast 1/4 of Section 22, T47N-R47W.
Time Line
1941. April. For the first time since the World War, Gogebic range iron ore is being shipped to the docks at Escanaba. A trainload of Pabst mine ore was shipped over the north Western last night to Watersmeet from where it was to be routed over the Peninsula division of the railroad to Escanaba. [IDG-1951-0404]
