Port of Hancock
The Port of Handcock is located on the north side of the Portage Canal in Houghton County. It is reached through either Lake Michigan or Lake Superior. In the copper mining years, this port shipped out copper and copper products and received coal which was necessary for operation of the mines and stamping miles.
